Anua is a modern Irish-based industrial enterprise with locations around the world.
Our name, Anua, is derived directly from the Irish word meaning "renew." The concept of renewal fits with our strategic intent to focus on innovation and the processes behind innovation. We develop products and systems that create clean air and clean water.
Our parent has been a stable trading company for 75 years with semi-state status. We are proud of our Bord na Móna legacy. Our confidence in the power of our modern business is reinforced by our past; the strength of our company today flows directly from our unique history.
We provide a range of innovative wastewater management, water reuse and odour and VOC control solutions. Our technologies include:
- Wastewater treatment systems
- Water reuse solutions including rainwater harvesting
- Odour and VOC abatement
- Environmental monitoring, laboratory and consultancy services
We focus on water conservation, energy reduction and reduced chemical demand while providing superior performance to homeowners, communities, industries, municipalities and significant benefits to our environment.
As a society, we believe in the need to forge a new contract with nature that respects its power and fragility. As a company, we have committed ourselves to doing just that.
The Bord na Móna story
Bord na Móna has been at the heart of Ireland's development as a nation. It has provided employment and created communities, helping build the country through some of its greatest challenges. It has been doing so for 75 years.

Just as Ireland's needs and priorities have changed over 75 years, so too have those of our company. The core business has expanded beyond the harvesting of peat, the activity that gave our organization both its name and its reason for existence for much of the 20th century.
As local and global pressure has grown to find more sustainable ways of producing power and conserving resources, we've developed many innovative new products and services to meet those demands, from producing eco-fuels and environmental products, to offering waste collection, resource recovery and renewable energy expertise. In addition, water treatment, district heating and ecotourism businesses are being developed to meet future needs.
The products and services that make up our business are diverse but all share two key characteristics. First, they draw directly upon the unique set of skills and insights we've built up over three-quarters of a century working with nature. Second, they're specifically designed to serve the present and future needs of our citizens, our economy and our planet.
As a society, we need to forge a new contract with nature which respects both her power and her fragility. As a company, we have committed ourselves to doing just that. The time has come for us to choose a new name that reflects the focus our organization now has on sustainability and innovation.
